Laura Sterba moved into the neighborhood in 2010 with her husband Adam Gray and their son, Douglas, after living in downtown Elgin for 5 years. You will often see them walking their two pups, Jax and Oliver. Laura leads Digital Commerce for a leading baby & toy brand, and has over 20 years marketing and leadership experience. She has also served on the board of the Elgin Symphony league, the Elgin Math & Science Academy and St John’s PTO organizations and the Fox Valley Notre Dame Alumni Association, and has volunteered with Shared Harvest, Elgin Youth Soccer coaching, and many other area organizations and events. -
Treasurer
Eric Larson moved into the neighborhood in 2010 with his wife Margaret Williams and their daughter, Maddy. He served as executive director of Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra for 8 years, stepping down in 2024. In addition to consulting for nonprofit organizations, Eric volunteers on the boards of Elgin Symphony Orchestra and BACKBONES.org, and he chairs the Elgin Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and the Elgin Classic Bike Race host committee. -
Board Members
Gail Cohen moved to Elgin in 1999 to take a job with the City. Her two sons attended U-46 K through 12. Her home is on Cedar Avenue near the bike path which is enjoyed by her family for running and biking.
Darlene Hulin is our Community Arts Liaison
Kerry Kelly is our Butterfly Garden chair and also on our Property Development committee
Jeanne Paar relocated to Elgin in 1978 and moved to the Northeast Neighborhood with her husband and son in 1989. She is a retired business analyst which now affords her the time to garden, enjoy her nearly 100 year old home and participate in the NENA community.
Heike Spayne is our liaison with McKinley School and a member of the planning committee for Hollywood on the Fox, a gala fundraiser to launch a campaign to repair and refurbish that school’s playground.
