NENA-ROPEHello! My Name is Heather Farrell and I am very excited to be part of the innovative Resident Officer Program of Elgin (ROPE). I am the Resident Officer of 310 N. Spring Street. My main focus is to provide a safe, quiet neighborhood to live in, reduce crime and to form solid community partnerships. I want to empower residents in my ROPE area to take ownership of their neighborhood and improve the quality of life through problem solving. As for me, I am a true Elginite. I attended Lords Park Elementary and grew up in Parkwood. I stayed in Elgin until I went to college at Western Illinois University, where I majored in Spanish. I lived abroad in Guadalajara, Mexico and Valdelavilla, Spain. Upon returning from school, I made my way back to Elgin where I have lived the last 7 years in the Northeast area. 2013 marks my 7th year as an EPD Officer. Prior to ROPE, I was on midnight patrol. I believe this to be the foundation of Police work and it has made me a well-rounded, experienced, street familiar Officer. I am bilingual in Spanish and am a Juvenile Officer also. Being a resident of Elgin, I have spent quality time getting to know the community, both during work and off duty. I take pride in ownership of my home and improving the quality of life for myself, my family and my neighbors. Along the way, I have participated in city events like the Foxtrot, NeighborWorks, ROPE Camp and National Night Out. I always strive to support city establishments anticipating them to succeed and flourish economically. I look forward to meeting you soon!Nena-RopeHouse
